Lifetime Guarantee
What does the Lifetime Guarantee cover?
Our guarantee covers manufacturer's defects, failure of workmanship, and failure of hardware and materials, discovered through normal use during a product's lifetime. If you purchase your gear directly from our website, your product's warranty is automatically registered and you do not need to take additional action to register your product. If you did not purchase your gear from this site, you will need to register your gear here: Warranty Registration.
What does "Lifetime Guarantee" mean?
Our products our guaranteed for their lifetime of use. A product's lifetime is the period of time, through normal use, that it is expected to function in its intended purpose. All products experience natural wearing after a long period of use. This wear is not failure of materials or workmanship but a natural process over a long period of time, i.e., the product's lifetime. We hope that when our products have given you their lifetime of service that you purchase a replacement to last another lifetime. We offer a loyalty discount for customers that have used and maintained their gear correctly. The loyalty discount provides a significant discount on the purchase of a new version of the expired gear. If you would like to apply for the loyalty discount, please fill out the CLAIM FORM. If you have discovered a defect or failure please refer to the "REPAIR or REPLACE" FAQ section.
What is "proper care" ?
All products should be used in their intended purpose. After use, inspect your gear for any needed upkeep. Please refer to our Product Care Guide to learn how to properly care for your item. Performing maintenance in a manner other than what is recommended will void a product's warranty. Gear made with leather or oil tin fabric will require frequent maintenance using specific methods. Please refer to the Product Care Guide to learn how to properly care for you leather gear and oil tin fabric. If a product becomes soiled it should only be cleaned according to our Product Care Guide. After maintenance is performed, all products should be stored clean and dry in a climate controlled area out of direct sunlight.
What is the expected lifetime of my gear?
The expected lifetime of your gear depends on many factors. These are just a few:
1. How frequently it is used
2. If maintenance, upkeep and cleaning are performed correctly
3. How the item is stored
4. For gear that is worn, if fluctuations in fit occurred
5. How the item is treated during use.
All employees of Peregrine Field Gear/Wild Hare Shooting Gear own and use our gear on a regular basis. We have many items from our first years of ownership starting in 2014. In all this time, we have had no need to replace any gear. If you treat your gear well, its lifetime can be extended many years.
What is not covered under the Lifetime Guarantee?
Misuse, abuse, improper care, improper storage, excessive wear and tear, factory seconds, clearance items, fluctuations in fit, accidents, items manufactured before 2014, animal damage and third party modifications and alterations are not covered by our warranty. Using a product in a manner other than its intended purpose is not covered by our warranty. Why is gear purchased before 2014 not covered by the warranty?
Prior to 2014, Wild Hare Shooting Gear was under different ownership and manufactured to different standards and specifications. In addition, a Lifetime Warranty was not offered or included with purchases before 2014. If you have an issue with an item purchased before 2014, we're happy to provide you with recommendations for a new purchase.
REPAIR or REPLACE
How do I have my item repaired or replaced?
If you discover a defect or failure of your gear, you can expedite the warranty process by filing a claim using this form: CLAIM FORM. You will be asked to upload photos of the item (clearly showing the defect or failure), along with a description of the issue, approximate date of purchase, where purchased, and your contact information. We will evaluate the photos to determine if we need the item sent to us for further evaluation or repair. We will then provide you with instructions on how to return your item if necessary. It is important to prepare your item for shipping by making sure it is clean and free of debri(mud, feathers, fur, blood, dust, etc.). We reserve the right to send back dirty or soiled items. Once we receive your item, our repair team will evaluate if the item is repairable and covered under warranty.
REPAIRS:
If the item is repairable and covered under warranty, the item will be repaired at our expense and returned to you. If the team discovers any misuse(abuse, improper care or storage, excessive wear and tear, alterations or modifications, improper usage, animal damage etc.) the warranty will be voided and you will be contacted about your options.
UNREPAIRABLE (UNDER WARRANTY):
If the items is determined to be unrepairable, and covered under our warranty, a team member will contact you about replacement options.
END OF PRODUCT'S LIFE:
If the item has reached the end of its useful lifetime and no longer covered by warranty, but was used and maintained correctly, you can qualify for our loyality program which provides a significant discount on a future purchase of the same product. If this was determined through your submission to the CLAIM FORM, customer service will contact you about your options. If you are already aware that your product has reached the end of its lifetime you can apply to the loyalty program through the CLAIM FORM to receive a discount on the purchase of the same item.
